About David

David always intended to put people first in whatever he did. He started his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Frank A. Buczynski, Jr. in the Chancery Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean County Vicinage. Throughout his career, he has helped his clients defend or exercise their rights as injured workers, victims of fraud, and those injured due to the negligence of third parties. At Kotlar, Hernandez, and Cohen, David represents injured workers in their quest to obtain the workers’ compensation benefits to which they are entitled.

David is a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice and previously was a member of the New Jersey Advisory Council on Safety and Health. He has been named to the New Jersey Super Lawyers Risings Stars list for workers’ compensation multiple times and received the New Jersey Association for Justice Amicus Advocate Award for contributions to amicus briefs before the Supreme Court of New Jersey in cases involving the enforceability of arbitration clauses.

David was admitted to practice in New Jersey and graduated from Widener University School of Law and Rutgers University for his undergraduate studies. He is active in his community, presently elected as a member of the Oaklyn Borough Town Council and running for Ocean County Freeholder in 2019 and New Jersey Legislative District 9 State Senate in 2021. David has previously served as a trustee for the West Creek Cemetery Association and as a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board – Ocean County Citadel. He also served as the coach of the MATES High School Mock Trial Team in Manahawkin, winning the Ocean County Championship in 2022.
